Buchholz Hydraulik

Innovative made-to-measure components with a long tradition

In 2010 Buchholz Hydraulics of America Inc. was established in the United States as a subsidiary of the German company Buchholz Hydraulik GmbH. As an innovative business we have deliberately chosen Westmont in the Chicago metropolitan area as it is ideally located in the Illinois Technology and Research Corridor. Our employees for Westmont cooperate closely with our production and development departments in Germany and provide technical and logistic support to our U.S. customers.

Buchholz Hydraulik

The nucleus of the German parent company Buchholz Hydraulik was founded in1884 as a workshop in the city of Kiel which is about 60 miles north of Hamburg. Today we are still a mid-sized family-owned company which is run personally by the owners in the fourth generation.

Since 1959 our focus has been on the development and production of customized valves for mobile hydraulics. The targeted orientation towards our customers' needs has proven to be a very successful concept which soon enabled us to establish ourselves as experts for individual hydraulic solutions.

Today, with a staff of 300, we achieve a turnover of over $65 million and produce more than 160,000 customized control valves every year - over 50% of which are control valves for manual or electro-proportional actuation of forklift trucks. Moreover, we manufacture specific hydraulic valves and controls for construction machinery, the automotive industry and submarines.
